An exciting opportunity has become available for experienced Adult Qualified Social Workers from a Learning Disabilities background to join one of North London’s top Local Authorities. My clients are interested in hearing for experienced qualified social workers to act as lead practitioners with in adult social care. Due to the responsibility of these posts my client is only interested in applicants who have a solid qualified track record within Adult Social Learning Disability with a minimum of 18 to 24 months experience. The ideal candidate will have three years experience in adult social care with an extensive understanding and knowledge in adult safeguarding, Learning Disabilities, and experience of working effectively with adults who are assessed as having very complex needs. It is also desirable but not essential the successful applicant has experience in budgetary control and management. You will be responsible in delivering a creative program of shared learning and development within the relevant area of expertise in liaison with Operational and Service Manages and provide a clear and responsive practice leadership role within the service including modeling best practice and promoting the highest professional standards. This is essential as you will be the lead on any issues relating to safeguarding of adults, positive risk taking, risk assessment and management. Other responsibilities and duties include: • Provide a social work service to the client group • Responsible for the implementation and co-ordination of complex assessments, the purchase of agreed packages of care, and the monitoring of service contracts in partnership with the client group and agencies and health professionals • Responsible for the provision of casework and other social work services • Knowledge of key legislation relevant to professional social care work • Knowledge of the functions of a health and social care department and related agencies • Knowledge of methods to plan and review services for the client group • Knowledge of social diversity and equal opportunities and the ability to demonstrate this throughout all aspects of practice • Experience of managing a complex case load • Strong influencing and negotiating skills with clients and other health professionals Experience of producing reports for a variety of audiences • Good IT skills • Able to work independently and within a team. • Ability to organise and prioritise work and manage time effectively • Customer focused Your responsibilities will also entail providing professional supervision to support social workers and other colleagues in undertaking complex assessments and interventions, encouraging the development of high quality standards and practice. In return my client is offering a full time temporary position for a minimum of three months (high possibility of extension) paying between £20.00 and £28.00 (negotiable) per hour, dependent on interview.
