Support Assistant
A friendly Day Centre for Autistic clients in North London is looking for an impactful and self-motivated Support Assistant. This job requires a competent individual with experience working in day care services with Autistic clients. Your main responsibilities will be to provide daily support to the service users, attending to their needs in a sensitive manner in line with the organisation’s regulations. You will be keen to build positive relationships with both service users and the team whilst demonstrating effective listening skills. You will be eager to obtain feedback from service users in order to improve services and carry out risk assessments when required. We need someone who is passionate about the impact they are making on people’s lives and who strives to enable people to fulfil their potential. You will be able to demonstrate great team working skills and high sensitivity to vulnerable groups of people as well as good writing skills. To qualify for this role, you are required to demonstrate experience of working alongside people with learning disabilities in a social care environment. You would have also completed recent training including Health and Safety, Manual Moving and Handling, Basic First Aid, Medication Administration and Food Hygiene. You will be required to present the certificates when applying for the job. Our client, a large school in the borough of Hackney is looking to fill a Learning Support Assistant job in a year 5 class to offer 1:1 support to a pupil with Asperger’s syndrome. You will have prior experience of supporting a child with Asperger’s syndrome and be an experienced, dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant. The school itself is a large 2 form entry school based in Hackney with a large and dedicated team of talented staff and so are looking for a friendly and outgoing Learning Support Assistant to become a valuable addition to their team.
