Head of Quality Assurance Residential Care
This is a home based role with frequent travel to the North West and fostering offices in England, Scotland and Wales The post holder will be responsible for developing, promoting, and auditing quality assurance processes and practices for the residential division. You will work closely with the operational managers in the Residential Division to develop continuous quality improvement methodologies that will meet the groups internal standards ratings and achieve in the highest possible external inspection ratings and deliver outstanding outcomes for children. Outline of duties:Ensuring the organisations Residential division conforms to all relevant government legislation and regulation, facilitates the highest standards of care and provides outstanding service delivery.Helps ensure quality assurance processes and supporting governance which ensure continuous improvement and transparent best practice.Keeping up-to-date of developments in residential services and their regulation, proposing best practice models in quality assurance and working with operational managers on initiatives that will improve outcomes for children.Providing constructive and supportive challenge to help ensure the highest standards of service Supporting operational managers to prepare fully and effectively for Ofsted inspectionsTo undertake internal inspections reviews of all residential homes, with additional interim visits to assess progress initiatives.Providing internal expertise to the Residential Division on safeguardingEnsuring growth projects and workforce development are implemented in ways which are consistent with regulatory and legal compliance and highest service quality.Contribute to an outcomes monitoring system which provides evidence the impact of our service on young peoples lives.Working with the other Quality Managers in the group on initiatives that promote the sharing of best practice in quality assurance across the education, residential and fostering service. Essential experience, knowledge and skills:Recent and relevant management experience within a residential care service Assessment, quality assurance and quality improvement experience within a residential service.Evidence of working with children and young people, parents, carers and other relevant parties to improve service.Developing service improvement plans to further enhance services Relevant and current inter agency safeguarding training, knowledge and experienceKnowledge of safer recruitment, vetting and baring processesKnowledge and experience of recording and reporting systems as stipulated in residential homes regulations.Relevant and recent understanding of guidance, legislation and policy.Sound experience of risk assessment/risk management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.Ability to identify data requirements and analyse data to inform quality assuranceHigh level of ICT (sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office)Providing ‘Outstanding rated care, as referenced in Ofsted Judgement framework to children and young people within a residential service.Knowledge of regulations relating to residential care homes, residential special schools and CQC adult care settingsRecent and relevant experience of working with regulators.
